Our History

Tippy Connect Young Professionals was created in 2006 after the need for engagement with these individuals became apparent to the leadership at the Lafayette - West Lafayette Chamber of Commerce (now Greater Lafayette Commerce).  A staff member was assigned the task to research this age group, survey the membership and find out exactly what being a young professional in Tippecanoe mean to our community.   A steering committee of eight local young professionals and two community leaders was formed to help guide this new endeavor.

In December of 2006, Tippy Connect launched the community's first Top 10 Under 40 awards presentation to highlight the impact these individuals had in the development of local economy, professional leadership and quality of life.

The one staff person has now grown to an executive team of eight young professionals and a position on the Chamber of Commerce Council.  We are proud to share that we currently host three annual events, two community fundraisers and a series of monthly professional development opportunities for young professionals.
